I. God
God exists as one being in three persons: the Father, the Son and the Holy Spirit. Although each member of the Trinity serves different functions, they each possess equal power and authority, all actively operating in complete unity to bring salvation to people and restoration to the world.
II. Jesus Christ
Jesus, being in nature God, born of a virgin, was fully God and fully man, He was born into the chaos and corruption of fallen humanity. He lived sinlessly, died unjustly and rose again to conquer sin and death, providing a way for man to be eternally reconciled to God.
III. Holy Spirit
The Holy Spirit is divine and is in the world today. For believers, the Spirit renews the soul, empowers Christ-like living, imparts spiritual gifts and guides people into all truth, for the unsaved, He convicts of sin. The Holy Spirit is fully God, existing eternally. He is a person and was involved in Creation and the inspiration of Scripture. Believers are entitled to the benefit and joy of being filled with and walking in the Spirit for empowerment in Christian life, service, and mission.
IV. The Holy Bible
The sixty-six books, from Genesis to Revelation, and only these, known as the Old and New Testaments, are the written Word of God. The Bible is God’s Word to all people. It was written by human authors under the inspiration of the Holy Spirit. The Bible is truth without any mixture or error and is completely relevant to our lives today. The Bible is the basis for everything we believe and the foundation for everything we teach and do.
V. Sin
Man was created in the image of God. Through the first man Adam, sin entered the world and subsequently all humanity. Mankind is separated from God because of sin. Without God, he is without hope. Since all have sinned, all need a sinless sacrificial savior.
VI. Salvation
We are saved by grace through faith in Jesus. The blood of Jesus shed on the cross provides the only way of salvation through the forgiveness and pardon of sin. Salvation occurs when people recognize, confess and repent of their sin and place their faith in the death and resurrection of Jesus as sufficient payment for their sin. Salvation is a gift from God and it cannot be earned through our own efforts.
VII. The Local Church
The local church is a community of believers unified through faith in Jesus. It is committed to the teachings of Jesus and obeying all His commands; It seeks to bring the gospel to a lost world. The church is not perfect because it involves imperfect people. But Jesus is perfect and He is the one and only true head of the church. The church works together in love and unity with the ultimate goal of following and honoring Jesus.
